Did you miss the 2017 Bandimere Speedway Swap meet in Morrison, CO? This was a few years ago but it was a great event!

The weather was great this time (for a change, Bandimere 2015 was about 40 degrees and we froze our butts off). In the mid 70’s and not windy, we put on the sunscreen and were very comfortable.

This swap meet was full – lots of sellers and a steady supply of buyers. After seeing a few swap meets that were less than full over the years, it was nice to see some good interest here. Maybe it was the weather? Perhaps, but the Bandimere Speedway is a great location (about an hour and 15 minutes from Colorado Springs where I am) and easy to get to off of E-470, near Red Rocks Amphitheater.

There was an incredible array of parts to look at – everything from superchargers for big block Chevys to Model A’s to a real nice headlight and crossbar assembly for an early 1930’s Graham! In other words, there was something for everyone! Steve found a bunch of hardware storage units and I found a couple of great car radios as well!

We took a break around 10:30 and headed over to Bert’s Model A (see his website here – www.modelastore.com)to look up some parts for my friend Steve’s 1930 Model A Roadster project.

We then went back to the meet to pick up some parts for my friend Rich, then we were off to our favorite Denver Diner – The Butcher Block at 4605 E 74th Ave (www.butcherblockcafe.com) for a great lunch.

Next swap meet is at Watkins, Co airport – Warbird Auto & Air Show And Mountain States Swap Meet & Car Corral on May 27, 2017!
